Chris Barber

US Marines in New Zealand

As a former Chief Executive of Nature Coast Enterprise Chris Barber was an early supporter of the Trust and attended our inaugural meeting.

He was Managing Director of The Kapiti Company, a Board member of the Kapiti Coast Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the NZ Institute of Directors and in these roles was always open to encouraging our activities.

Later, Chris went on to serve as a Trustee for two years.

Chris and his wife, Bec Kay (a former intensive care nurse) and their daughter Ruby have a personal connection with the Trust as previous owners of the Tiromoana Street house in Raumati that was made from two former Marines Huts and subsequently gifted to us to build the re-constructed Marines Hut now in Queen Elizabeth Park.

In 2017 Chris and Bec started their own very successful business, [Bond Store(https://thebondstore.co.nz/?target=_blank)], making unique spirits, liqueurs and cocktails in Kāpiti. The couple now have now clocked up a number of award-winning products, in particular their Kawakawa gin.
