Wellington Heritage Festival 2025 - Take the tram to hear the Marines' story!

11am-4pm, 25-27 Oct 2025 - Queen Elizabeth Park, Paekākāriki

Travel through Camp Russell by tram to hear the Marines' story.

Buy a ride on the decorated tram and a KUSMT guide will tell you about 15,000 young Americans in our district.

View the site of beach landing exercises, visit a Marines hut, and explore the US Marines Memorial.

Health & Safety

Passengers will remain on the tram on the trip to the beach where they will alight for the beach landing story. On return journey they will alight again opposite US Maries Memorial and, after a tour, will walk back to Tramways Museum. Passenger safety will be closely supervised.

Please wear good shoes and dress for the weather. The tour may be cancelled in bad weather.

Cost: Adult $12, Child $6 (5-15yrs, Under 5s are Free), Family $30 (2 Adults and up-to 3 Children)​
