Norm Hatch Collection

The Kāpiti U.S.Marines Trust (KUSMT) is proud to show-case selected low-resolution images from the recently acquired Norm Hatch film and photographic collection.

The acquisition of this precious high resolution WWII collection of 29 films and 1494 black and white photographs has been a very important project for the Trust.

Since 2019, KUSMT has restored and digitized most of the collection and more recently we have deposited it in the Ngā Taonga Sound & Film Archive for the people of New Zealand.

Our goal is for this website to work alongside the archive at Ngā Taonga – making the collection more accessible and interesting for the public, by providing links to articles, books, films and stories to provide information and context around the bigger story.

80 years on – we welcome your questions and are open to receiving stories or photographs that might deepen the story for future generations.
